Two petrol tanks total capacity 3.25 gallons - which is 10.9 litres
VS 19 litres for the 1300GS and 30 litres for the GSA. That alone will get a few boiling their piss let alone the looks and the "seat"

Have you seen the US Super Hooligan racing in the US they use modified Pan Am's

The first bike…… just pull the chain and flush that turd.

The race series bikes look good tho

This is Daves Harley and my Griso at the IoM the Harley was an absolute beast

Harley XR1200 - ANOTHER bike that I came so close to buying, didn't buy, and now regret it.

Your mate's bike is a MK1 XR1200. When I was looking for one I remember many tales of fuel tanks swelling, stopping the orange tank cover from fitting properly. They fixed this with the MK11 version and fitted better suspension, but the orange MK1 version always looked better (IMHO)

I can still remember that lovely sand cast appearance on many of the engine parts - I'm an absolute prick for not buying one..... :blast

It needs ape hangers to finish it off. :D
May as well look a complete twat while you’re at it. :thumb2

This one was one from the Race series (Torquil Patinsons bike) and had been modified by Harris performance
With Ohlins front an rear re bushed suspension etc etc (I will get Dave to detail)

It was an absolute beast of a bike

I had an orange XR1200 too. Limited edition with the factory Ohlins.

Went very well. Similar vein to the Norton 961 I've got at the moment.

Great bikes. Crashed it into a ditch up near Hawes as I was still riding with my GSXR, R1 riding mates at the time, and was pushing it a bit harder than Milwaukee iron likes to corner.

The factory never actually fitted Ohlins, so must have been fitted by a previous owner? The later (matt black or white) bikes had higher quality BPF showa forks and decent shocks, the earlier bikes were only "okay" suspension wise.
The biggest impact of the race series kit were the lightweight wheels (PVM) and horribly expensive. Mine, in the photo above next to Mike's Griso weighed about 30kg less than standard, mostly the wheels and exhaust. Still quite a lump but immense fun, bit like a classic Norton Commando ( with the isolastics) but with twice the torque and 90rwhp (they were all dyno'd regularly to prevent cheating). I do miss it...

Why have a Harley when you can get a much more refined... And better looking Indian FTR 😉IMG_20250329_171447_edit_717644788578510.jpg

The automatic mower bungeed to the back is the piece de resistance 😜
Stupid boy Pike😂😂
Have say the magnetic tank bag is a poor substitute for a Vario Topbox, but never mind, it serves its purpose.
