What a bunch of twats...my servo assited breaks have been fine for 64,000 miles.

I had more trouble with the last Ducati's and Honda's I owned.

Get real and enjoy it - stop worring everyone.:spitfire

brakes failed twice in cold weather

two of us on GSA's have just finished a 850 mile jaunt to Bastogne and back, twice in the mornings when we were bombing around the Ardenne my mates 06 gsa brakes just failed

how fuc@in dangerous is that

circumstances were both mornings we came out to find the bikes covered in frost both bikes took 3 to 4 times to start

both have 20 / 50 oil in them so i know this makes them harder to turn over when cold, and when i say cold i mean cold as my computer was telling me it was minus 9

after reading the above , i didnt realise a low battery could be bad for the abs, and could perhaps make it not work, well i certainly saw it for real twice, luckily it was so cold out there that there was hardly anyone on the roads and both times John was able to bring the bike to a stop - switch off the ignition and restart it then all was hunky dory.

anyone else had the same cold / failing abs fault ???:rob

If the battery gets slightly low in power the ABS will not come on. The brakes will work as normal. You have to keep the battery on a charger in those cold conditions.

mmmmmmmmmm

not sure how many people go on biking trips and pack the optimate
certainly never crossed my mind to pack it
but one thing is for certain
twice those brakes failed at the begining of the days riding
after switching off and restarting all was ok
now think what would have happened if we had been going 60+ and the lights turned red and john was behind me

I had the brakes go 4 times on My 06 12gs... I did 16k miles in a year on it. My answer was to sell it back to a BMW dealership and get a `02 1150 GSA with standard brakes.....wish I had got one in the first place :)
