Ypres accomodation wanted.

Anyone know of a good hotel or b&b in the center of Ypres, preferably with secure bike parking.

and thought it was excellent.
Parking will be outside in their car park but I'm sure you could tuck a bike in a corner somewhere.
We were in the car so the car park was fine for us but give them a ring about the parking as there may be something more secure.
They are very helpful.
Recommended hotel.
Novotel is a 30 second walk from the town centre and has an underground car park. We booked early & paid about £80.00. A great baker opposite for the all important early morning croissants.
I'm sure some one will have exactly what you want,but I know of a fabulous place to stay in Poperinge down the road.

Not cheap as chips but if anyone was dragging their wives along,then they would LOVE it here.We've been a couple of times and the dinner in the manor house was probably the best meal I've ever had worldwide !!
Poperinge is also on most people's itinerary and featured heavily in The Wipers Times is you saw that.

And Talbot House in Poperinge is also well worth a visit.

Albion hotel, 5 minutes walk from the central square and the Menin Gate. IIRC we booked it as it was cheaper than the Novotel, which is very close by. We parked on the street outside. Make sure you go the fields in the flanders museum, also 5 mins walk from Albion Hotel IMO the best museum on the subject. We went to many museums and graves, deeply moving. I would go back in a heartbeat.

+ 1 for the Albion. Proper family-run hotel, excellent accommodation and service. I've been staying there since 2002.
It's worth a visit but even better if you stay there. Often booked up but your rooms are the museums rooms, they simply close that part of the museum off when you arrive and take the room. Outstanding.

Several years ago I stayed at 'the shell hole' and also the 'old tom'. the old tom let us use an underground private garage around the corner for our six bikes.

In case anyone else reads this looking for options, the campsite (Jeugstadion) has wooden 'hiker's' huts for rent.

Great campsite though if you are camping in a car you have to leave your car in the road up the side of the site, bikes can be brought into the site and parked next to the tents.

+1...was in the Ariane(again) a couple of weeks ago. Outstanding. Must find time for the Flanders Fields exhibition...
