Zaragoza, MotoGP + Santander Moto pistons.

Ran down to Spain on the GSA, left the wobbly box behind and did in the old way.
Bike, pilot, co-pilot and minimum gear.
Galway - Rosslare - Cherbourg - Bordeaux- Pyrenees - Zaragoza - Motorland - Santandar - Picos - Nantes - Cherbourg - Galway.
We hooked up with a couple of guys from here in Zaragoza and shared the trip to the races (thanks John). We are slowly getting to know some of the UK Tossers.
Weather was all good except for the final 200km run into Cherbourg.
We did manage to bring wine back by buying the 5L cartons. 4 of these was feck all for the GSA to carry + a few bottles of Champaign.
4100km in all the 30L tank is a real boon scrubbing off France, 412km to a tank cruising at 100
The only down side to travelling without the wobbly box is the hassle of checking into "in transit" hotels and having to go to restaurants for all our food and coffee breaks.
The ferry lands in France at 5:30pm so we could only manage Bordeaux on the first day.

The only stop in France was a half hour in Cadillac, being a Cadillac owner it was good to get a photo.
Then on over the Pyrenees, great uphill sweepers and no stopping for photos.

Ahh to be in Spain again gives us a great feeling, what a wonderful part of the world and even better if you are a biker.
Zaragoza is a real nice city and we enjoyed our stay. The local Irish bar ran out of booze, not because of us but due to a few rugby games going on (sorry to mention rugby).

My advanced planning for the trip was one week but we got a very nice 2 star hotel with garage, cheap and friendly. Hotel de Paris

A nice run in to Motorland with Little John and Geoff, we didnt bother with the niceties of driving down one way streets ONE WAY

We arrived without tickets but the nice lady sorted us good stand tickets right on the start - finish and a big TV in front of us.
The best MotoGP i have been to, the Spanish know how to do it.
The Jets did give us a fright we were just coming up the tunnel with the grub and coffee and then Wooosh.
I would love to ride the track, there is a km long straight followed by huge Mallory like sweeper and back onto to start - finish straight, the top boys must really give to some.

On to Santander a very nice city, a bit French Riviera style and the Motopistons 5000 curve rally.

A long day in the Picos, there is every kind of biker road here.

Travelling light meant only one pair of trousers so strip to my kegs and throw them into the wash.
If you want anything in Spain the China shops have it.

The 5000 curve rally is one I will have to do. Its a week long event at a great hotel base in Santander.
These classics are thrashed around the Picos. On the Friday they leave on a 500km 5000 curve route starting early and back before the 8:00 pm shut off time. Check out the guy arriving back at 7:00pm after completing the 500km on a HRD racer with a bicycle light on the handlebars + open pipes.
Deffo sign up next year and bring a couple of my CBX1000's

Great craic at the Hotel, warm summer evening, an outside bar, buy a beer and stroll through the classics.
