Hi,

I have consulted the forum on this but couldn't find a straight answer.

can anyone tell me the inner dimension of the opening of ZEGA cases. I believ the ones published by Touratech are the outside dimensions.

Also what is the "standard" position of the cases like on a 1150GSA. I have seen bikes where the panniers are more horizontal than others.

As the Touratech panniers are lower than the BMW 1150 GSA alu panniers but also narrower, what's with scraping the panniers when going low in the bend? I scrape my BMW alu cases, in fact the racks that hold them to the bike, every now and then. Damage to the rack isn't too bad (they seem to be made to deal with this) but scraping an ally pannier is worse I think (denting or holing it?) What's with that lower position?

Tnx for the replies amigos

Tom

On what is the "standard" position, well, where do you want them?

If you fit them yourself (see the guide at Touratech USA for hints but you don't have top follow it slavishly) you'll see that there is some leeway on how they fit but it's inches at most difference from one extreme to the other. Most seem to be fitted reasonably high, butted against the back of the footrest (where the system cases fit) and angled slightly forward. Your mileage may vary.

Not a difficult job. Being careful about it gets it done in a day.

There is a premounted set available for something like £50 more. I don't know where those sit (probably as described above since it is most common) but I have seen some negative comment on the quality of fitting on those elsewhere on this site.
