I'm looking at the Zumo, Am i right in saying the only difference between the 400 and the 550 is the bluetooth??

If so, with the price difference, my logic is i could buy an Autocom... therefore being able to hook up the mobile......and talk to the GF ( the phone is the only advantage i can see for bluetooth)

Is my logic sound? Or am i missing something?

IIRC the 400 only has the UK mapping, no car mount and doesn't do text to speech (TTS) ie take London road in 100m.

550 has EU mapping, car mount and does do TTS as welllas having bluetooth.

I have got a zumo 400- I already had an autocom and bought the required connecting kit from another chap on this site. It works great- no it doesnt tell me to go down 'London Road' in 200m, but it works enough for me.

I bought mine as UK and Ireland only (v9) with a free upgrade to full europe v10- I did have to put the euro maps on an SD card though. And the price? Less than £200. Bargain.

So... If you can get the European mapping thrown in for the 400..... To get a 550, you're basicly paying 180 quid so some some bastard you don't really want to speak to( or the darling GF:augie)...calls and interrupts your ride....?? Is that a feature worth having?:eek
And TTS? useful?
Don't get me wrong....If the 550 is the ducks nuts ( more than the 400 or a TT rider) then I'm happy to pay the money, but if your getting sweet f :augie k all for twice the price.....

I got the 550, mostly because of the bluetooth feature, but also for the car mounting kit that comes with it, which is very useful to me.
