i have a zumo 550 and autocom 300 with a dongle in socket aux1 the phone connects to the zumo the zumo connects via the dongle and for music it is hard wired to aux 3 everything works as is but when the directions come through the music mutes and the directions are so quiet i can not hear them above 40mph the speakers in my helmet are set ok (the music is on 3 bars from max) the zumo is turned up to 100% in settings how do i get the instructions louder any ideas please:o

I have the same problem .. taking the thing to autocom to have them check it out.

Thank god I am not the only one!!

That's weird cos I have the exact same set up, only wired the bike up last night and I had to turn the volume down a tad but then again, not tried it with my ear plugs yet.

Hope I have no problems, am leaving in an hour on a 4 day bike trip! Nothing like testing it out before you go away, is there!!!! Fingers crossed.

Will let you know!

My mate has a 550 too and he has same problem, OK up to 60mph then not loud enough. We will swop Zumos over at some point and see if if is the unit or not.

Mine is new out the packet but when I plugged it in for upgrades, there were lots, one mentioned vlume, so before you send it back, try an upgrade.

Sorry for the waffle, but in my excitement for the trip, I got up an hour too early!

think you lads need to read the Zumo site
gives you info on there how to do a fix for
the loudness of the sound
did my one and its ok

The main master volume seems to be the biggest problem, people are not looking at the instructions and not knowing about it. Once turned up fully this helps the volume. The 550 with a Super Pro has been used at well over 100mph with no prolems at all volume wise.

The other thing to check is on the bluetooth menu, make sure the Bluetooth is only set for the phone only as some of the Zumos are coming with the Bluetooth preset so the music, GPS and phone are all connected via the dongle. So in theory you are not getting the auto volume on the aux3 socket as the lead in being used.

There are also software updates that you can do from different sites but mainly Garmins site to improve the lack of volume being supplied via the Zumo.

So a few things for you to try.

Rich,

I will do that to the ZUMO before I come up then!!

I hope it is as simple as that. I will let you know.

I did read the instructions but couldn't find any sections that help with the volume. :nenau
If you guys have a link or page reference, then let me know.

Cheers,
T

When the Zumo is mounted in the cradle and bike powered, press the bottom left hand button, this will then bring a yellow volume bar towards the r/hand side ofthe screen, if not adjusted up before there will be 3 volume bars free that by pressing the + button will turn up the master volume. The MP3 volume and GPS seperat volumes can be adjusted to suit then.
