Im thinking of buying a zumo 550, i currently have a tomtom rider 2.

I already have everything connected to my autocom via the bluetooth dongle, will the zumo 550 connect to the autocom bluetooth dongle and my phone so I get the sound in my helmet? and able to make receive calls etc

Cheers

It will, but if you are looking at running the music side of the Zumo a Part 1314 would be needed as the dongle does not support stereo music.

Thanks gsrich, im fairly okay with the wiring so i presume i still leave my dongle connected and connect the extra part, where do i connect it too though?

Just another quick question......or 3:augie

1 does this mean I can ditch my ipod from my bike now which is currently in aux 2 if i remember rightly

2 if im listening to music via the garmin does it mute when calls and directions come through the headset

3 and finally will it be okay with my sony ericsson w880i - i cant find a list of compatible phones on the garmin site

Sorry for all the questions
Cheers

Hi lee,

No worries at all, so question wise

1, As the Zumo has got its own MP3 player if you get a good size memory card this can then be used as a music source. I think a 4gb card is the biggest you can use.

2, Phone calls take priority, music and GPS come through at the same time but you can set the Zumo so one level is higher in volume all depending on inportance.

3, Ive never known for a Sony Ericsson to cause any problems with the Zumo's as they are a very good brand of phone. :thumb2

I have now bought a zumo 550 so will be ordering the stereo cable tomorrow from Autocom direct (ordered my autocom 200 direct and it came next day) so will stick with them as they havent let me down yet:thumb

Looking forward to listening to music in stereo through my headset!

Cheers

Rich,

Im about to order kit 300 and would also like to connect zumo and phone, not too worried about the music side but I can use it if available.

With kit 300 and the bluetooth module I assume the zumo navigation and phone linked to the zumo will work ok. Can you use the zumo to initiate calls etc? Also without part 1314 can you still hear mp3 from the zumo but in mono?

Thanks

Ian

I have now got everything installed

Phone is paired with Zumo (very easy and quick)
Autocom dongle is paired with Zumo
Audio lead is in aux 2 on autocom and audio out on zumo dock

4gb sd card loaded with music (hint.....have one folder on the card named MP3 and then in that folder save your albums by having a seperate folder for each (thats what I have done anyway) but make sure that each song has the name of the album and name of the artist in it otherwise the info wont come up on the zumo)

With my helmet on and listening to music I set a route and waited for instruction, when the directions came through my headset the music was muted :thumb2

As for volume i set the directions at 100% and music to 70% on the zumo and then tweaked it using the speaker button on the front of the unit, it goes way louder than i need it and I wear earplugs!!!

All in all very happy with the set up
