I have just updated my maps from the 2009 original maps that came with the unit. After a weekend of pulling my hair out (if i had some to start with) i have finally down loaded UK, France, Spain, and Portugal to a SD card, i can now get the sat nav to recognise addresses in the places i want to visit in France and Spain but when i want the sat nav to calculate the route it gets about 70% then it says it is unable to calculate route not enough memory available.:nenau
Has anyone else had this problem and will the sat nav calculate when i arrive in France as i need to sort this in the next week before i go on my hols. :Motomartin
Thanks
Kev

If you are trying to ask the device to calculate a very long single route then, yes, it will struggle.

Break it up into smaller chunks.

Thanks Wapping,
The 2009 maps allowed me calculate all over Europe, i take it that the maps are now bigger so the unit can’t take all the info in at once. We always carry maps with us but it’s quicker and easier with the sat nav
Thanks

... and check your avoidances, I had a similar problem then found I had it set to avoid toll roads which makes France very difficult for the routing software

You can also try deleting all the other languages and voices that you don't use.

You will have to do this from a computer.

Obviously don't delete Emily in English.:D

This might free up enough space.

...and seasonal closures, some passes are only open for a short time in the summer.
