Garmin have released new firmware 4.2 for the Zumo, see Garmin website for details.
Changes from version 4.10 to version 4.20:
• Software update restores Bluetooth settings to default values. Bluetooth devices must be paired with the zumo again.
• Added the ability to reset the odometer map field.
• Increased Bluetooth volume when connected over A2DP.
• Improvements to screen brightness.
• Fixed crashes that occur when importing long routes from MapSource.
• Other general software improvements.:)

Thanks for the update Glynned, but everytime Garmin brings out an update to fix something that should never have been wrong in the first place, something else goes wrong after the update.
Garmin are great sat navs, but their software is a real problem . Very hesitant to change anything, especially after the joke of the last upgrade - took me ages of frustration to get my 660 to pair with my Scala. Wasn't until someone kindly posted a fix on here that I managed to bodge it !!

So, I'll wait a while , and see if anyone else manages the upgrade.......who'll be the first brave soul ?:nenau

Well this version fixes my bluetooth issue (music not restoring after using the phone).

So my glass is half full. :thumb

And you have the same bike as me - well, your glass should be overflowing !
Have you used the Zumo on the road since the upgrade ? Any new problems :blast ? As if .......:D

And Glynned - sorry to be a bit grumpy re your very first post .....just that Garmin software, and the way they make simple upgrades difficult is a bit of a "thing" with me - I hate bad design, and I hate badly thought out ( or not thought out !) software.
Lots of other things I really like .....100GS PD's for example, especially turquoise ones .....Joanna Lumley, Neil Young - the list goes on....:thumb

Just installed 4.20 on my Nav IV. As far as I can tell it's fixed the glitch where the unit would switch off when going Back after saving a waypoint to Favourites. I await the outcome of further use on the bike and in the car to see if it's created any new issues. However, I'm reliably informed that these can usually be cured by doing a hard reset on the unit.

I'm not sure about simple upgrades being "difficult". Using WebUpdater has always been pretty straightforward for me with either of our nuvis and with the Zumo. Good point - just off to see if there are any upgrades for the nuvis.

Well I can report that so far all seems to be well, and a big improvement over the awful 4.1.

Just updated, no problem.....however.....

No more media player button on the map screen, back to multiple menus to get there. Damn damn damn!

:edit:

Once started it's there and stays....super!

I have just upgraded the Firmware - was a bit apprehensive ( see my posts above), but have to admit, all went smoothly, and, after a short run today, all seems well.
It took rather a long time initially to pair up with my iPhone, and I was fearing the worst, but it finally got there.
Seems a bit of a pain that headset and phone ( or any other Bluetooth device) have to be paired up again after the upgrade, but I can live with that !

No problem with 4.1 but updated to 4.2 anyway. All works OK but on earlier update they placed a music Icon on the map screen so you could just press icon and play. Now they have taken it off again so its back to going from map to main screen to settings to music to press play!!!!

Nice to be able to reset the odometer but never really found a need to use it anyway on a bike with overall mileage plus two trips.

16GB SD Micro Cards not working with 4.2

Just back form Leicester today - around 450 miles with my Zumo - having upgraded from 4.1 to 4.2 on Monday all was well but today the unit in the bike mount just kept freezing and would not select the right icons - at one point a new splash screen came up askign for me to verify my country... I removed the 16gb card and amazingly upon restrtignt he 660 was performing as well as beforee but now I have no music. Has anyone else had this problem , I did not try my 8gb card but dropped Garmin a support email tonight - lets see what they say?

Hi

Did you do a Master reset after you updated?:augie if not do one now and see if that cures it?:comfort
Hope this helps:thumb

Hiya, yes I did - reinstalled my POIs and favourates etc - still glitchy with both cards but OK with no card... very odd.

Just had my 660 out for a reasonable run today on 4.20 and it shutdown twice when trying to recalculate a route it had calculated from a navigating to a waypoint. :/
