Anyone found a fix for the crackling and poor connection between the mount and the unit (that's what's been blamed in the past for poor quality music / voice prompts)???

when its gets bad I can usually jiggle the unit in the mount just slightly and its back to good sound again - but that gets old fast!

Any thoughts?

Yeah..

Just clean up (and grease up) the contacts. Helps in 90% of the time.

Thanks ECM - tried that several times but it seems like as the bike bumps along the connection moves! Looks and feels secure but it obviously moves a bit as I can jiggle it and reseat it.

Could be a dry joint anywhere in the audio circuit, although mechanical contacts would be the first (easiest) place I'd look....

Got that alimey - its the mechanical contacts that are the problem... question is, does anyone have a fix - i.e. stop the unit moving in the mount?

I thought Garmin might have had a replacement mount or something by now as its been a problem for a lot of folks in the past.

May be a silly idea but call them up, see what they say. They have been good in the past for product support....
