Zumo mounting

Hi. I've just had my Zumo replaced undo warranty (by return of post!, thank you Garmin). It was not charging in the bike mount, looked like some of the pins were burnt out. I had it mounted on my 1200GS on a migsel mount attatched to the cockpit frame. I'm assuming vibration has caused the problem.

Before I go down the (expensive) TT mount route has anyone else had problems with vibration, if so how have you mounted it? Not keen on mounting on the bars, I want to keep it mounted near the clocks.

Sounds very like Nick's problems with his Quest mount.

On a 12GS/GSA.. my suggestion has always been on the oval rail, LHS of the clock with a u-bolt, RAM-B-231/231Z and RAP-319, then with short arm, RAM-B-201-A.

From my circles, I had heard of cradle failures, but nothing on the scale of TT Rider 1.

Thanks for the replys.

Zumo was wired directly to the battery and the bike is often left out in the rain whilst I'm at work so water pentrating the seal could have caused a short.

From what Ram Man has said I'm assuming that 'normal' levels of vibration (ie road use) should not harm the system.

I like the idea of a locking GPS bracket (TT) but at £100+ it's hard to justify the expense.
