Hi all,
thinking of buying a zumo in the sales. Can anyone tell me where I can get one in Dublin?
Ta.

zumo

I got my Zumo 550 from ebay about a year or so ago...

they are 400 euro brand spanking new boxed and warranty

included, thats a lot cheaper than most places that I know of I asked in bike

world and they were nearly 900

here is the ebay item number : 120353428232

with the latest map updates I found the mapping very accurate.....

AND if you know where to look on the internet the maps plus updates for all countries can be downloaded...... but I would never ever condone that type of thing,...... :augie

Thanks for the info lads. Feckin dyin of the flu for the last week, bloody typical when you take time off work eh? Anyway, will have a new Zumo soon and be back on the bike with a smile :)

With Sterling as it is, a trip to mBéal Feirste might be in order, or just order online from the UK.

There's always rumours about a replacement, but nothing confrimed anywhere.
The Tomtom's just don't cut it on all the boreens around the country so don't waste your money on em.

Nice one Padge, I like the way you think. Yeah, have heard the Tom Tom isn't as good from several people now so have pretty much decided on the Zumo. Hein Gericke have them for £449.99 in the 2008 catalogue, maybe a trip to Newry would be worth while. Might wait another week or two and see can I wring any more out of the Stirling sponge :)

Personally I,d always buy kit like this from shop as have heard storys of refurbished units from pixmania etc.. Bought mine in Maddocks about a year ago... I did pay a premium but hi-tech gear like this I just wouldn't trust online... old woman like I am:augie

Defo Norn Iron with sterling is the way to go IMO and ref Tom Tom, I have no experience but Zumo is class bit of kit and has never let me down... 50USD as well for SD card to cover all of USA/Canada as well...

maps

hey luke..

yeah the maps that are available work on all the models.. I have sorted out a NUVI, zumo, street pilot for mates of mine...

you get the main mapping program, then there is a small BAT file which unlocks all the maps takes 1-2 mins...

class......

You might forward them to me too if ya wouldn't mind.
Thanks, and Happy New Year to all

Hi Coxy........ I got my 550 from Mysatnav.. there based in the Becon Centre in Sandyford. I think I paid about €600. They were very quick with my order and I was able to collect it from them. Just to mention the TOMTOM... I have a TT rider 1 and it stopped charging when in the motorcycle mount and having done a little research I discovered that this is a common fault... also worth mentioning you cannot play MP3 music files on the TT:thumb

Hi all,

I got a Zumo 400 in Halfords in Cork, including the Ram Mount for €180!!!

Will have Europe 2009 Maps on it over the next few days.

No power cables or instructions as Halfords couldn't find them, it was a demo model, sales guys didn't even want me to buy it!!

But including the Ram Mount (€70), I couldn't let stay there.

Have used it in the car and works a treat, will have the power cable for bike in a few days.

Good luck with you're purchase.

Nice one Satriani, you got the deal of the year there. In relation to the Tom Tom and MP3s, this would be an issue for me alright. Was in England, Wales and France last year and was using an iPod when on the motorways and long spins. Bit of a bummer when I wanted to adjust the volume or turn it on/off as it was in my pocket so the fact that the Zumo has one and you can control it without fiddling in pockets is a bonus.

 I tried to bargain them down twice on that - had been sitting in the clearance shelf near the stairs for ages for about €350 - the nobs in there couldn't care less whether they sold it or not and weren't bothered to budge on price.
:clap well done.

I had the same story but I had my brother with me who's also has a bike and we both insisted that we get a good look at the Zumo. If I didn't buy it, he would have. They are some muppets in that shop, lucky for me.

BTW we went in at 5:55pm, close at 6pm and they were pushing for us to leave.:augie

I bought the power cable and ram U bolt today on ebay, so I will have all setup and installed next week for less than €200. :D
