Updating Zumo 550

Hello you great Zumo gods
I have had my zumo 550 for a couple of months now, and i think its great. (1st sat nav), But I notice It has software version 2.50. My questions are; 1/ should i update it to the latest software ?
2/ Will i notice any difference? 3/ is it free ? And finally 4/ is it more trouble than its worth
