Pitted Chrome

Hi Guys,

Have used my V rod muscle throughout winter and have cleaned it quite regularly but I have used it in the wet a few times and the chrome is beginning to pit quite badly. I've scrubbed it with S100 soap and HD chrome cleaner to no avail.

Can anyone recommend a good product to recover the chrome?

I'm not an expert but I understand that chrome is made up of lots of little platelets. Once it has started to pit you are fighting a tough battle to keep the rust away that is hiding in the cracks. A thorough clean and a wax coating will probably help in the short term, a re-chrome is the long term answer

should of given it a good coat of acf50 before winter started. If the damage is already done your not going to get rid of it without getting new parts.

Is the bike under warranty still?

Yes still under warranty, have been using ACF 50 but it's still pitted!
