Hi! Anyone know if a US purchased Streetpilot III Delux will work in Europe/UK? Am about to move back to Blightly with ADV and noted price difference for the Garmin stuff. Thx!!

Except when you "drive off" the detail maps. You're in the desert then, no basemap!
Check the coverage of your CityNavigator maps first (on www.garmin.com). It covers most of Europe, but if you plan on going beyond that, it still makes sense to buy a European version.

Also, if you plan a trip from let's say the UK to Austria, you can use the basemap to get through Belgium and Germany. The basemap will do for main roads and cities. Load detail maps of Austria and Switserland, and you're fine with the 128Mb of memory. You won't be able to load all the detail maps on the memory card.

So it's not as simple as that. The price difference is quite big, so it is tempting of course... Think before you buy!

Migsel, many thanks for that. I'm still tempted by the price difference even with the little loss of function.
