Got the new bike home on Wednesday and while I can't currently ride it I've had the chance to start adding some of those personal little touches. :augie

Swapped the screen to one off a GSA not only for additional protection but also so I could fit the nifty little GPS mount developed by Padge.

The screen mount on the 2008 is different from previous models so Migsel's excellent ram mount had to find a new home.

Chunk's pot and rear brake reservoir protectors powder coated in black fitted easily enough.

The carbon BOS GTS full system bolted straight on as did the GSA rear rack and pannier frames from the old bike.

The higher optional hand protectors keep your hands cozy on those cold winer rides and come in black rather than the grey of the standard items.

A one off headlight protector from Civil and Reyno's oil cooler grill sort out some frontal protection. Both of these fit the previous bikes which is handy.

I found out that the beak extender from the earlier bikes will not fit on the 2008, it goes on alright but the mounting hole positions are different. Also the previous BMW tank bag won't fit with the new shape of the bodywork so had to invest in the new version which is rather neat.

Few more bits to sort mainly at low level where I can't currently get to but I'm happy with it so far. :aidan

Some nice additions there :thumb2

Two questions:

Where's the light guard from, and how much? :nenau

How's the weightlifting going? :augie

I have to wait before I can weight, it's all I can do to get off the sofa without screaming, oh yeah and on top of it all the super dooper high strength pain killers they got me on cause constipation which is all I need at the minute! :blast:rob

The light guard was a prototype that Civil made, he ended up going with a different design which he has over on the vendors section.

looks great roger where did you the bos can it looks the dogs.:aidan

Ordered the Bos through the dealer who supplied the bike, I'd found a picture of the new GTS version with the conical end and thought it would work on the bike.

Fowlers of Bristol are the importers for BOS in the UK and there is a dealer list on the BOS website. :thumb

BOS can

What does the BOS can sound like? Is it too loud, ie upset the whole street:(

I don't mean to be rude, but what's the point of that headlight 'guard'? It's too widely spaced to keep stones out, but the bars look big enough to interfere with the already rubbish output from the front lamp.

Not rude at all, and valid points which until I've tried it I won't be able to answer.

I've had both a TT perspex guard and their metal guard on the old bike, the perspex went straight back owing to the amount of light bouced into my face at night, the metal version had a similar surface area to the new one and did not impact on the light output, although I had HIds fitted.

It's a work in progress. :aidan
