The Guzzi Cali has just been MOTed and will be going to it's new home on Wednesday so that means there will be the most precious of things...Space in the garage! we all know how nature abhors a vacuum so it's time for a new project :)

It's RS time! :bounce1 Time to get the 78 R100RS back on the road.

Just in case anybodies interested I'll be doing a full rebuild with pictures over the time it takes to get the bike up and running. The bike was bought by a mate of mine in 1980 and seized up on him in the Pyrennes a few years later. It hasn't been on the road for 20 years or so and has had a few bits plundered to keep his other bikes on the road. I didn't know whether to break it, build a special or restore it. Thunder has most of the parts I need to sort it out laying about from his Cafe racer project so that made my mind up.

Let the spending begin :D

This is how it's supposed to look (mine has the sport seat though)

Nice one Rob :thumb2
The 3/4 "Sport" seats are like rocking horse manure to find :eek

The dual seat was a nocost option when new and 95% of buyers took the dual seat :nenau

My dad had one those when I was kid - it had a pearlescent (sp?) white paint job and it looked fantastic. I think it was a Kouros ltd edition, have never been able to find a reference to one since :nenau

Have great memories of being on the back and riding it around the garden. Must try and find some pics of it.

When she's finished Rob, PM me, on the off chance I've a few quid hanging abart, assuming you wish to sell.

That's my dream bike.

Nice one Rob,

I'd be very interested in seeing the photos as the project take shape.

Good luck:beerjug:

The bike, or what's left of it, was left to me by a mate who died last year. Stands me at nothing as it is so I'll keep a tally of what it costs me.

Just seeing if Kenny's awake :D

A couple of years ago I had an R100RSR Had trouble finding out the history of the RSR. All I know is that only 30 were brought into Oz. It may have been a mis directed shipment that was originally destined for Japan. Each bike had metal RSR badges attached and was individually numbered. As far as I know they were all black.

Anyone shed any light on the RSR? Will see if I have a photo.

Good luck with the re-build Rob,

Im sure it will be fun, the expensive bit is already done (Re-built engine), Keep us all posted

Single seat

I followed the Flatracer link posted by Rob, to look at the single seats.
Then I had to do a double-take - they're using a picture of my old Gold R100RS with single seat (the one I sold to MMC) - pic taken by me outside my house about three years ago.
Guess it's no big deal, but you'd have thought they would ask first
