More or less, yup.

And therein lies the issue, if you’re Mr Mass Market Honda/Suzi/Yam/Kwak, you just invest whatever it takes to make a top selling electric bike. If you’re a smaller player, you are going to struggle. You’ve less money to invest, and you can’t live on your past glories. How do you compete?

Ha ha! I remember that being presented on Tomorrow's World TV show with Raymond Baxter riding ot on a rolling test rig in the studio - the old smoothy! I can't find a clip of that but this is probabaly better from the same year!

 
Good write up on the Convert and touches on a few of the weak points like fuel consumption, gear change ....

Must try the 'launch control' sometime, sounds like fun, as a one off...:D

Looks like I've de-valued mine by fitting cast wheels, still, I have the spokes if I want to go back one day...:rob :)
