Picked up today and had an epic day out. Absolutely love the bike. I had a 1200 TE before but due to life taking over (kids, job etc) I sold it and regretted it immediately. Anyway my intention was to get a second hand one but there are bugger all for sale at my local mottorad dealer. Test rode the 1250 and after some serious man maths I managed to justify it. (Still working on the wife 
).
For me the key difference was the gearbox/gear shift assist pro and obviously the TFT. Riding in bright sunshine today and I never had any issues with glare from the sun. The display is awesome. I don’t like busy displays. The one on the Africa twin is awful. Standard exhaust sounds good and even pop and cracks in a rather pleasant way.
Running it in as per the book which is not a problem as the engine feels happier sub 5000.
