Top tip No 1: Buy a Migsel mount

Top tip No 2: Swap the 1150GS speedo drive for the 1150RT one, your speedo will then read almost exactly as your GPS

googled the speedo drive, I wasnt aware there was an easy fix for the over enthusiastic speedo.

I see motorworks sell used ones.

appears mine is 3.0 : 1

seems there is a 2.875:1 drive for an 18 inch spoked wheel which I think is 4.3% ratio difference and pretty close to correcting my over read

or is it the 2.6:1 for the 17" wheel listed for the RT1150. would it not read slow ?

or are my calculations wrong ?

I would like to fix it

thanks for the info

From memory I think it was the 2.6 but if you speak to Motorworks they are very knowledgable and will probably steer you straight.

Just fitted an SW Motech mount (bought used on here last year) for my Zumo 390LM on the top of the lower part of my MRA screen... probly gonna wobble so I'll fit stays (where I've drawn the red lines) to address that.

I love the high line-of-sight position - a bit higher than my Migsel mount...

Why not just use a longer ram arm on the Migsel mount :nenau :)
