You know I mentioned thermals.......
When I load bike there are a group of workmen waiting for their ride to work, their look is one of...,
“so bastard inglese is loading his bike in his pants socks and t shirt, fucking idiot.”
It’s a fair point as I check the oat and it’s minus 3, I recon that’s just ice on the sensor and it’ll change.........

After 500m I look down and it’s minus 6 !!!
Fucks sake......
Is my luck with the weather turning ??
Can I stay dirty side down ??
Will it heat up out of the shadows of high ground ??
Will a Bel Vita sustain me in these temperatures ??
Will my willy unfreeze and get back to full size ??

Between the d2d canvassing and leafleting and the mindless Brexit interviews on tv this thread is the only thing keeping me going. But what’s this, a list of questions and a piccy of some ice. So it’s fucking freezing as I wobble precariously along towards the coast.
The road is good and I’ll defo do this in better conditions again.
Saving grace is that it’s bone dry and the snow is only at the side.
As water flows down the hills and crosses the road there are a few mini slicks of ice, I adopt the wings level and Hope approach, it works.
Only regret is I don’t stop to get a photo of the impressive icicles on my left, too cold if I’m honest.

I look ahead and can see the sun shining on the crest up ahead.
I don’t much fancy going down the other side of this in slippery conditions so I’m hoping that things change.

I genuinely had no idea where it was, but gloves off for pics and it rises to plus 4 deg.

Anyway., I hop back on, as the road goes down the temperature goes up.
As I break out of the hills the valley roads are great and it’s about 10 deg.
Honk it north and break out just west of Santander.
I deserve a good coffee so pull over and find a nice little place to have a good break.
It’s very cute and the girl who greets me is a total honey. Her name badge says “spanner”, very appropriate as she’s made my nuts tighten immediately.
Someone once said to me that one day you’ll be riding along somewhere and pull in and you’ll accidentally bump into the most amazing girl quite by chance...........
