What's happening to bike prices guys ?

1150's seem to be going up buy the day. It would seem it's happening to all bikes too.

1100s and 1150s aren't as 'disposable' as the modern bikes. e.g. not written off because the paint flecked off within 6 months.

And as they get rarer, people realise that these older bikes make sense and become more desirable, and so the price goes up.

A lot of flag flying too... It would be interesting to know of the end value to some of the sales but as with Airheads like GS's before, there is often some bullshit value added... The ST sold in FS&W may have been cheap but it sold and there are many bikes on here and elsewhere that are priced high and the seller is still bumping and adjusting a few weeks later...

There are some variations like Oilheads that may now at last be getting some recognition but many of the ones advertised are very good condition and this is where the prices will vary the most... As with any vehicle that becomes an appreciating "classic" the dog end of the market is very, very different from the mint end...

A £1000 will buy nothing but a money pit these days.
That said,I’d rather buy a cheap bmw than a lot of brands.
Parts for older jap bikes are out of production and the pattern stuff is crap.
Italian parts are silly expensive.
Apart from suspension parts for 650 Dakar’s,I’ve come across very few show stoppers to prevent inexpensive ownership of 1100/1150.
(Apart from gearbox input shafts 1150)
