Decided to take the plunge and buy a Rukka suit - so who has the best selection in stock and most important where to get the best discount :thumb2

Have a look as this company if you're still in the market. :)

If you don't mind the prospect of ordering it from Germany, you'll have to try hard to beat their prices, especially now they are doing a 'make them an offer' offer...if you see what I mean. :blast

I understand that there can be an issue with UK importers though if there is warranty claim.

Regards,

Sgt.

p.s. I've also read of somebody getting a Marco from:

http://www.colwynbaymotorcycles.co.uk/ ....

.....for £330. I'm not sure how long ago that was and they did haggle hard to get it but they may be worth a try if you don't fancy the German solution.

I bought a pair of Rukka gloves in Germany.had a problem with them the uk importer did not want to know had to send them to Germany and they sent them to Rukka took 10weeks to sort it out.

:topic Slightly off topic here but will give you an example.......... On holiday in Germany, seen and bought a C*lem*n Petrol powered light. Back in UK, 6 months down the line it goes pear shaped. Light wont work. Rang C*lem*n UK about guarantee and they didn't want to know. Bollocks what to do now? Rang Consumers Association and draughted C*lem*n UK a letter to sue at small claims court for not fulfilling guarantee. Within 4 days a letter back from C*lem*n to return broken part and a replacement was sent out. Said it was a goodwill gesture..........Yeah right. Hasn't put me off from buying from anywhere but don't let the importers put you off. You pay enough for the stuff in the first place. Dont know if it will work for you but its worth a try.

Don't know if you have one yet but I have had mine for 3 yrs and don't think its very good.

Its very water proof but not very warm. I rode with a hind gericke jacket the other day that was half the price and was twice as warm.

I have also been ask by others with them as to what I think of them and we have always agreed that they are over priced and cold.

In the three years I have had to replace the zip once as well.

Its a bit warn out now and I will not be replacing it with an other Rukka

I bought a Rukka Armax suit from these guys in Dec 07 (got a fantastic deal with the exchange rate)....

Not quite sure how much of a deal you can get with the current rate, but can recommend them. Very easy to deal with & very quick delivery (3 days from order to door step):thumb2:thumb2

Using Germany's Biker-land and paid their asking price, you would pay 429 Euro's which equates to about £378 at todays exchange rates. That is before you haggle with them which they invite, so even if you can only haggle a moderate discount of £28, you'd still be better off by about £90 on UK prices. (That is of course before postage but I don't think they charge so much.)

Hope that helps. :eyebrow

.......Cont'd...... :eyebrow

Postage is 14,90 Euros....about £11-12. After my last post I saw the 'Marco' in the UK seems to be selling at around £449 so even with the postage a buyer would still be the best part of £90 up. :)

Sgt.

Well I went ahead and bought one :thumb2

After trying on most of the current suits - decided on a RUKKA STEEL Gore-Tex jacket and RUKKA UNIT Gore-Tex trousers

A friend of mine has the same set-up and is very happy with them.

The cheapest I could get them for in this country was £625

After searching the web I found http://www.biker-land.de/en and phoned them for a chat.A very friendly (English speaking) girl let me haggle her down to a total price of £450 including a back-protector and delivery :thumb2

They arrived less than 3 days later and so far I am more than happy :bounce1

So I would recomend you make sure of your size - don't be put off by price or dealing with a German company and Just do it :clap

I also asked about guarantee's etc and was told that if I had any problems with official UK Rukka agents to let them know as they are obliged to honour Rukka's guarentee no mater what country it is purchased.

I've just purchased a Rukka Armadillo jacket from these guys, £75 discount off normal retail price and free delivery. Very helpful chap too.:clap

I can vouch for Biker-Land.de. They are very good professional people. And nice and helpful. I bought two Rukka jackets from them, all the way from the other side of the pond. Strongly recommended. And I will legally challenge Rukka Canada if they ever refuse to honour the warranty.

I was going to buy from bikerland.de but was unsure about buying without trying on (i'm a funy shape). I found this site
http://www.rukkasuperstore.com/

They said they would match bikerland prices so i took a ride over to Nuneaton and tried the gear on. Just as well as the size i was going to order would have been too small. The retail price of the jacket and trousers in the shop was £889. I got them for £610.

I followed Justin's lead (Magicfingers) with bikerland.

Excellent service, kept in touch by email, rapid delivery. Would happily use them again.

I bought an Armas suit from Motorcycle Clothing in Wymondham last year....excellent service, and a 10% discount. I couldn't praise them highly enough.

This year I'm considering a trip to Morocco, and was thinking of getting a Kalahari suit which would be more suitable.

Obviously after paying out on the Armas suit, (which is excellent), I'm reluctant to splash out on another costly suit, so was considering the Bikerland route to save some cash....

....the Rukka Superstore seems a good option too...might be worth a call...

....but although I'd rather buy at Wymondam, it's hard to turn your nose up at a £150-200 saving.

Visited George White Swindon the other day ,got a cracking deal on Arai Chaser and noticed they had lots of Rukka Marco jackets down to about £170 I think . I breathed in as much as possible but still couldnt get one on as they were all small sizes. Teach me to be a fat b*stard.
