Recently bought a set of remus decat headers and silencer for my gs adventure.

Seems that the lambda sensors on the headers are in the wrong place and catch on the crash bars!!!:toungincheek
Are the sensors in a different place on the standard gs headers? have i ended up with normal 1200gs front pipes?
Any help apreciated.:thumb

Mine miss the crash bars by 40 mm on the right and 60mm on the left not even close. These are also remus headers on a GSA

There's only one set of Remus headers and as you've discovered, they create a problem with clearance between the lambda sensors and some makes of crash bar.

If you want to keep the headers and your existing crash bars, you could removed the lambda sensors, fit blanking plugs and fit a Power Commander which requires you to remove the lambda sensors anyway.

Or you could have just left the bloody thing alone and saved your money. Its not a performance machine, go buy a sports bike if you want more performance. JEEZ

Do you have after-market crash bars, as opped to the BuMW OEM ones?

My 06 1200GSA has Remus headers and can. The sensors clear the BuMW OEM crash bars by a reasonable distance (similar to Shep's) for sure.

Silly question, perhaps. Are you sure your crash bars are not bent, slighly?

Reel it back in a bit. The guys asked a reasonable technical question in a technical part of the forum. I think most of us enjoy trying and personalise and improve our bikes and in my shortish experience that is the spirit of this forum.

I think Schtum has outlined the issue. If you say which crash bars you have fitted I'm sure someone here will explain which crashbars fit with the Remus headers if you want to stick to Remus.

I bet you've got the Motad bars and in which case, your Remus will not fit:blast You will have to take the bars off I'm afraid.

Don't be so bloody black and white. It's a motorcycle. I goes better if you bin the cat'.

The GS is a motorcycle, and it’s our god given right as motorcyclists, to wring every last horse power out of our engines. Regardless of whether it’s a Hayabusa or CG125.

Has the standard gsa crash bars!!! thanks for the help

By the way---I ride mine like a sports bike, infact i can piss on most sports bikes..
I also enjoy the off road side of it but the "cat" dulls mid range power!!!

Sounds like some people on here could get away with riding a cg125:topic

Pull yourselvs to gether it was a simple question:clap

If it's got standard crash bars, the headers should fit so I'd be going back to Remus for a refund or new pipes:thumb

I have Remus headers on my 2009 GSA with standard crash bars, no problems with the Lamda dodahs.

Wouldnt mind betting that 99.99% of riders here dont get anywhere near riding there bikes anywhere near the limit! So instead of buying go faster headers and end cans etc they could try opeinng the throttle
Esp idiotic mods who have nothing to say but use idiotic emoticons, yes thats you Bilco you clown

Save your money - you would lose the bet. I would suggest more GS riders get near their bikes limits than sportsbike riders. Thats the fun of an involving ride on a GS - anyone can twist the throttle on a 170bhp bike and go fast in a straight line.

Clown eh? Now you are really starting to hurt, in fact I think I may have a good cry:tears

I stand by my earlier use of an emoticon because the glove fits nicely:rolleyes:

Don't feed the trolls.

Sgt Bilko, why use a glove when a plain fist would do :D
