Your probably sick of this but there might be someone interested.

I have fitted the lights but not set them up in the dark yet. I would like to thank Alan... "BTBR" for pointing me in the right direction and for the fitting instructions. Also Nippy Normans for the Autoswitch. What a great little gizmo that is.

I have fitted Hella Micro DE driving lights that will come on via the autoswitch and Hella FF50 main beam lights that are piggy backed and fused from the High beam circuit.

It took me longer to change the bloody fuel filter than fit this lot. :spitfire

I'm no electrician but if anybody local needs help fitting I wouldn't mind.

Nor me........fancy a job on a Saturday?

Neat job by the way, but you just might want to consider remounting the lights a little differently.

Put the FF50's on the top for main beam, they will work better up higher, trust me.

Vice versa, the lower the Micro DE's the better spread of light on dip.

Just a thought thats all, if you are happy the way it is then leave well alone

That gate could do with some creosote :thumb

Hi Alan,

I originally had them the other way round but between me and you I had cut the wire a tad to short so it was really stretched when they were underneath.

I didn't fancy cutting into the loom again so by putting them on top there was play in the wireing.

I will see how the light patern is in the morning on the way home from work as they are mainly unlit country roads and if it needs to be moved around I will bite the bullet and cut some more.

ps... thanks also to Migsel for a fine light bar. :thumb

pps... the fences are being redone all round the flats where I live as we speak. But I will pass your concerns on to Chiltern Hundreds Housing. :tosser :D

YOU CAN SEE

hi does these spot lights make a differance, now thats a silly question.

Nice one.

With a bit of luck my 1200 lights will look like that this w/e.

Well it'll certainly make it heavier and undoubtably give it more 'Road Pretence', or should that be 'Road Presence'?

Got the same setup (but DE's on bottom) and I ride all the time with the DE's on as it seems to plough a path through the traffic. :thumb

I have still got to make my Eyebrows for the FF50 to cut the glare from the screen at night though.

I don't get any glare on the screen, maybe it's because I have mounted them upside down... ie.. micro DE on the top and FF50 on the bottom. Having ridden a fair bit in the dark now with this setup I am really pleased. Having the Micro DE's on top gives a great pattern of light and the FF50's underneath gives off loads of light on the high beam. I only mounted them this way because I cut the loom a bit short and it was very tight making it reach the DE's when they were mounted at the bottom.

Plus I think they look quite smart mounted this way. :D
