is any body going to the launch of 1200gsadv at the week end??? let,s see if as good as the old adv :D :D ;) :thumb :nenau
 
I don't have to go to the launch to know it will be way better than the loser 1150adv. Just look at it!

I'll be visiting Hursts on Saturday, no doubt. Although I got a good look at it at the NEC, I didn't get to sit on it.

Roll on the weekend. :thumb

Looking forward to seeing Mr. Pavey and colleagues put it through it's paces in a real world situation.

I wonder if he'll leave the keys in it at lunchtime?

Mine is due in July, so get used to it! Still enjoying the 1150 so it's not too bad, but every time i log on here and see a 1200adv post i'd strangely drawn to it!
 
I had a butchers at the 1200Adv in Cooper Reading workshop today. Blimey its a big un. Very tasty looking, but marginally to tall for my 32" legs methinks. Just the right size for Clive.

Might just get down to the launch on Saturday just to drool like a droolling thing.

A nice shiny new Adv was sitting in Cannon's today and I was even allowed to stroke it! No need to wait for a media hype type of event. ;)

It does look rather good although I wouldn't fancy the wider tank on a daily commute. (Obviously, I'd want the capacity.)

I'm sure I'd be very happy with one (SWMBO wouldn't) but I really can't get past the fact that its a 12GS with a few cosmetic tweaks i.e. a styling exercise. Just like in the car world, different wheels, extra lights and a bodykit = more money + a massaged ego. Viewed in this respect its pretty good. If anyone's expecting any sort of genuine leap in capability over the standard 12, though, I'm sure they're missing the point.

I will be there at pidcocks to see my new bike and test the seat height,??.
The seat is my greatest worry with my little ish legs?,so will get a suprise or two maybe,,.
I will have to wait till may to get my own though :eek: ,

SAT morning will be a try and deside day!!. :nenau

Hi there Giraffe legs.... 32" bloody 'ell, I'm only 29" inside leg measurement and I can reach the ground on one.... just! :eek:

Glad to here you can just reach with a 29" inside leg because thats the same as me ans i should be trying mine this weekend

although i do have a standard GS low seat at the ready

Have you Micky tried one of those on yet ?

And there was me trying to persuade myself there was a valid reason not to look at the 1200Adv.

Bugger, I suppose I'll have to sit on it now and pull the levers etc. :) PB
 
Sure I'm on tip toes with an inside leg of 29" but the bike feels much lighter and manageable than my old 1150GS-A.

Chris... I've 'borrowed' a low 1200GS seat to use for now if I want, certainly makes a difference and can easily reach the ground :clap

Gonzo... why does a big tank create problems filtering? It's not as wide as the handlebars or heads :confused:

Will be out on mine Saturday.... watch this space :D :D

Fair question.

Bars go over mirrors, but the tank is about average cage mirror height. I don't think the heads are as wide as the bars.

Oh, and I've got crap spatial awareness so god only knows how I haven't hit more than I already have :rolleyes: filtering 60 miles around the M25/M23 every morning
