In light of the Ridgeway Trail ride organised by Clive for this Saturday being cancelled due to the recent introduction of the NERC Bill, :spitfire we can still have a ride out in Surrey. :thumb

The route is a popular trail ride using only legal Byways with hill climbs, mud, water, chalk, flint tracks and sand. We meet up at Newlands Corner car park near Guildford on the A25 - Dorking Road.

Streetmap is

HERE

Be there or miss out on a fun day. Look forward to about 60/70 miles of dirt with a stop at a pub half way round for lunch. This is mostly for pogo stick bikes but has recently been enjoyed by experienced GS riders.

The start time is at 10:00 and expect to be back at the car park for 15:00

Please put a posting here if you intend to come along.

Roy.

Funny but I think I'm free. I'm planning to be at Newlands around 9.30am for a bacon sarnie and a cup of tea with extra Oooooooooooo

I'll be there on the pogo - may need to leave you a little earlier as I'd like to be back in Reading for 3pm - setting off for Plymouth at 4pm :)

Hi there Roy, there's a 96% chance of me making this Saturday. I'm going to try & get me other half to join us as well... she did the ladies BM off road course two weeks ago and would probably like to try out her new found skills.

....any other ladies up for it? It'd be great to see you there :clap

P.S:- cor Clive, top man... that's a busy day you're havin' !!

If I can get an MOT, New tubes, Tyres.

Then convince the wife that Spending the whole day out taking the car and trailer is a good idea then i will be there.

Early birds

As with the last Surrey run if anyone is up for meeting up at 8.30am at the Cafe car park in Hindhead we can get a jump on the day and head to Newlands off-road.

S

Ok, persuaded. Who is your better, oops, other half then? :D Would be great to meet one of the girls from the course again!

Will come on my little dirt bike, although it's probably 60 miles from Oxford to Newland's Corner (poor knobblies... and they are not that old yet). But mud, chalk, flint tracks on the GS, mmmm, maybe another time... :mmmm

CU on Saturday! Ela

Yep, but I get a nice long rest/huge amounts of vomit (*delete as required by weather) on Sunday on the ferry to Santander :)

Hi ya, it's Anna...tallgirl

It'll be great to have you both there - it's a really nice route Roy takes us on - great fun. It's also going to be the first time the two of us have been off road together, so should be a good laugh :bounce1

:thumb Hey, this would be really great - hello Anna! :)

Could you please make an effort then and sort out the missing 4%? Thanks!

P.S. Just tried to persuade Fussel to join us as well - let's see if she turns up... :D

Come on, where is everyone else?

there's the added benefit of bacon butties and a bbq at Vines on Saturday.....

I think that looks like ten GSer's.

Dang ansd bl*st it!

GUys,

Won't be able to make this one ... and an earlier comment made me believe that it'd probably not be suitable for GSA's - well beginners with GSA's anyway :(

Hope you guys (and gals) enjoy the ride - please post some pics post event so I can judge the level of difficulty for next time!

...was really looking forward to the Ridgeway and all! :spitfire

What a cracking day for a bit of green laning. We left Newlands Corner fuelled by bacon and egg baps @ 10am and spent the next 3hrs and 30miles enjoying the Surrey dirt. We then stopped at Vines for a further bap before the group ex. myself headed towards Hindhead. A big thanks to Roy for leading this, I certainly had a blast and it was great to meet a few new GSer's :thumb
