Norway is a long country, and we have fjords and high mountains.
Up north we have midnight sun in summer and no sun in the vinters.
A spot on the map can be a dry place, and only one hours riding from there it can be wery wet.
And in Karasjok (up north, Finnmark), and in Drevsjø/Røros, (Trøndelag, south east); Those places are on the list showing the coldest AND the hottest places in Norway!
It is wery hard to tell you what weather you are going to get when you are here on holiday.
But normally they get much rain in the south west, like Bergen.
And normally we have many days with sun and it's nice to BBQ dinner outside in the south east.
Normally there are much snow up in the mountains, specially in the mountains not close to a fjord.
And normally it do not get that cold in vinter close to fjords.
-Whats normal?

Average temperature vinter Oslo:
Often when the weather rapport say -5c, but at my place just outside Oslo, a little higher, is gets -10c. That is because of the fjord, and because Oslo is a ''hole'' - it makes it less cold then 15 minutes up north.
Often when it rains in Oslo I get snow up here.
When I drive my car to Tyrigrava it might snow here, down closer to the fjord it's raining, and in east at Tyrigrava it's snowing - and I drive for max. 40 minutes!
I have been to the east part of Finnmark for holiday in June, July and August, many times, mostly in the 1980ties. Once I was walking outside wearing a t-shirt and it felt OK - not cold. ONCE that happend!
And once when I walked out of the plane I sat my foot in snow, in the summer.
I was wearing my vinterjacket most of the time when I was up there.
Down here I normally do not wear it for weeks, sometime months...
Do not plan to drive up here in vinter with tyres for summer use on your car - or motorbike. The tyres for vinter is made of a different type of rubber. And many of us (like me) prefèr studded tyres for our cars.
Some ride a motorbike in the vinters, but I don't dare.
I hope you learned something!
