1400cc coming

Bigger definitely, but I’m pretty sure it won’t be better for me.
Saying that, I won’t be taking a demo bike out so I’ll never really know will I.

I wonder if this hints at the need to comply with the upcoming Euro 5+ Motorcycle emissions standards, the precise timing of which has yet to be announced.

As I understand it Euro 5+ aims at ensuring the bike meets emissions throughout it's operational life, across a varied heat range with, I think, some form of monitoring system within the ECU. Things like reduced valve overlap would create performance issues for those accustomed to the availability of sports bike performance from an adventure bike.

The current model is now being heavily discounted probably in anticipation of the new 1390 but then again ktm seem to discount all there bikes after a couple of months, not sure why anyone would want a 200bhp Superduke the current one is an handful.
