For routes created in the Garmin friendly HERE version of the maps, the 1.2 version exports routes and other data really well into my Garmin XT, my Nav V. You do not get the little blue shaping dots on the XT.
It also exports them well into the BMW Connect app but (at the moment at least) the way / via points (the announced points you have told the device you must pass through) don’t display. The route will still take you past or through the point(s) but you won’t receive a notification.
Despite it being very reliable, do always check your route BEFORE you set off. Mistakes or glitches are easier to mend then, rather than in the rain in a Tesco car park.
