► Alternative screen options

To be fair Puma you're using the Mirage 2 screen which brings the clocks up a bit, right?

Need to get myself one of those screens :P

Thanks again for all the replies, will be going to my local dealer later on in week to do the deal so there will be some 1200 bling up for sale soon.:thumb2

It's fine for me Steve but I'm only 5 feet 9 and a bit
But I never have it fully extended ...

Thanks Mickey,

On the internet, you cant really see the quality, what's it like ?

Quality very good, but if you have it extended by more than a couple of inches it gets wibbly wobbly

It's a bugger to clean between the two screens and needs a bit o' disassembly to do so :(

I've got the Vario on my 800GS. MASSIVE improvement on the original screen! I've extended mine to its fullest; it doesn't wobble that much for me and I could, if I so chose, ride with my visor up - I don't, obviously. I like the idea that when abroad and it's warmer, I can lower it to get much more air flow. For me, variable adjustment was the way to go - I could 'tailor make' the size to suit my 6ft frame. Very good in my opinion.

I have the Vario on my F8. Very good protection and when you get the height just right (it is critical) it provides superb protection with minimal buffeting and noise. Yes it is a little wobbly but not a problem. :thumb

I'm 6 feet 5inch and I use the Wunderlich Ergo Vario screen with TouraTech spoiler.
I am very satisfied with what this combination does to the comfort.
I can open my helmet having a bit of water now and then.
I need that.
And no turbulens or constant wind pressure makes any issues here.

I am to try exchange the TT spoiler with the Wunderlich spoiler this season.

Well, I have the original BMW screen and the Long Touratech screen on the shelves.
They just didn't do it for me.

Wunderlich Spoiler

I HAD and wunderlich ergo V with a wunderlich Spoiler. I'm 6 foot and do a good bit of motorway commuting so it was perfect. Glad to see other approvals of the same system. Got minced a couple of weeks back by a lunatic who decided that checking one lane was enough before crossing in front of two. Meant a side. All the gear, All the time = a slight limp but alive. Have the chance to replace with a BMW touring screen but will stick with the Wunderlich.

I did 102 miles today and the difference with the high screen was massive.
I did catch a glimpse of the top of the screen fluttering but as it was below my eye line it was not a constant niggle.
The high speed 70 mph on motorway produced the normal pressure on the shoulders and head but the screen reduced so much pressure from the torso, it made the experience more pleasurable. I am 5' 9" or 1.75metres tall with the standard seat on a F800GS.

I have a metal mule screen for sale

Perfect nick, high Wycombe area, collection only pm me
