T`tech Tinted Tourin screen

Hi All,
If anyone is interested, I av a used once only, tinted tourin screen for an 800GS. I used to have an 800, but now have changed to a GS1200. I am not sure if I can sell it on this forum,so could someone advise me if this is ok, and if so, what do I do ?

800 screens

Was wondering if anyone has the biondi 50cm screen, ive looked at the adjustable wunderlich screen £185 seems a tad expensive :beerjug:

Wind blast form screen

Hi, silly question I know :D but what part of the body should the screen direct the wind to for the most comfort? I find on my bike it is hitting the visor of my helmet and its knocking my head around, should I raise my screen or lower it so it hitting my chest area :nenau

As yet nobody has been able to convince me that motorbike screens are anything but a black art!

I am currently trying to make a screen that will provide clean (smooth) air up to 60 ish but still be a few inches high so that at motorway speeds i have something to hide behind.

I can only recommend trying as many possible permutations of adjustments that are available to you.

What screen are you running with?

Can't find any pics of the adjustable one but if it's anything like this -

Then i'd suggest your head will be a fair distance from the top of the screen - the further from the more turbulence created. There are a fair few folk who swear by the spoiler attachments on top to stop this effect -

It may be worth finding a local tosser with one willing to loan out for a couple of weeks (they are very adjustable and will take a fair bit of riding to try all the angles)

Best,

???? Oooh Errr missus

I had the same issues until i got the MRA Adjustable screen which seems to easily direct the wind to the top of my helmet and has greatly improved the quality of my ride.

I have a Wunderlich adjustable screen, and it's taken me a while to find the correct height. I might try the spoilers in the future, they look useful. At the moment, I have the height set so that the air hits the bottom of my helmet / top of my chest. I tried the screen at its furthest extension point, and the air hit the top of my helmet making it vibrate quite badly, giving me a headache! Helmets are designed to move through the air efficiently (apparently!), so this seems the best set up for me.

I think something adjustable, whatever that might be, is the way to go . . . .

Wunderlich Screen Deflector

Recently bought myself some Wunderlich handguards and a screen deflector.

I can recommend both.

The screen deflector was a real suprise. I had to heat the screen up gently as (I have an extended screen and it isn't flat at the apex ) to flatten it out to better take the clamp but now that it's on, there are several noticable improvements.

First is obvious in that I can ride about with my visor up and get a lot less wind channelled into my face than before.

Second is a big reduction in noise. I suppose, before, the screen pushed the air up into the visor of my Tour X3 and the deflector pushes it up and over my helmet now. If I sit really high and raise my head, I can feel it like it used to be and in my normal riding position it is now much , much better.

Just thought I'd share that :D

I agree with that too, Dave.

I find that the deflector offers so many variables. As such, it is very good on a longer journey as it can be easily adjusted to suit your personal requirements. It particularly works well with the X3 helmet.

Thats interesting, I have often debated about buyting one of these but was unsure how much of a difference they would make. I shall have to give one a go!

Cheers :beerjug:

Hi Dave,

pray tell me how you have managed to secure the Wunderlicht deflector? I've followed the instruction sheet and adapted as deemed fit but the bloody thing continues to work loose!!
I'm fitting it to the stock F800gs screen. Any advise will be greatly appreciated.

You've used the steel plate to screw the allen bolt against nice and tight ? And the rubber sheeting to give the plate something to grip against ?

That's all I've done and it seems to be fine :nenau Hasn't flown off and hit me in the face .... yet ;)

Maybe because my screen is slightly curved that it keeps everything in tension ?

Wunderlich Screen Deflector

I have had the Wunderlich Screen Deflector fitted to the BMW touring screen on my F800GS for over a year now and it's a great bit of kit. Spent a little bit of time adjusting it to get it right and checked the fastenings a few times as a precaution. Found that initially they would "give" a little bit but very soon became solid. Best bit of kit I have fitted. Expensive but well made and works, at least on the touring screen. Have done over 100mph and apart from the screen flexing a little more, as it does anyway, the deflector is brilliant at putting the windblast over the top of my helmet. Can ride with an open visor up to 60mph.

I've got the Touratech one (which by all accounts is the same) and it makes a hell of a difference.

I wasn't sure whether to buy to start with so I went down to TT and borrowed one to try. I could feel the difference before I'd got off their industrial estate! Half way down a section of local dual carriageway I just unhooked it to see the difference and it knocked my head right back!

Without a doubt, the best product I've ever bought from TT and well worth the dosh!:thumb
