► Clutch drag, slip and faults

That was one of the main issues - the cable wasn't adjusted to allow the plates to fully seat, so they slipped just a little. This made them wear, so they slipped some more etc etc.
 
Got to disagree with you there. When I'd done 30k miles and much of that off-road, I took it apart and there'd been very little wear. It looks like perfectly good engineering to me. :comfort

The clutches aren't the strongest, although there are various theory's as to what's wrong. The one on my bike was replaced at about 6000, whilst half way across Africa. Maybe the owner was riding the clutch a lot whilst off road...

That's reassuring then. I'm on my third, so I guess it's like a few things on the F8 - you get good and bad ones!
 
Me too!

Took mine in today (650 though) as it was slipping and dragging all over the place. They're going to replace it under warrenty next week.

Mileage? 4,900!!!
