I noticed a similar problem on my F650.
Spoke to my dealer who said that these bikes are prone to doing it. Is he right?
is there some problem with that? my does the same but there is no problem, he is probably right.

I noticed a similar problem on my F650. It only happens occasionaly when i was decelerating, mainly downhill. Thought i had a leak in my exhaust (I'll be honest i know nothing about mechanical thingsBut im learning)

But it should not happen as this is a fuel injected bike, should only happen to bikes with carbbies.
But it is![]()

Sorry Snowlife. Maybe it should not happen on an injected bike, but it does. 1100/1150/1200GS's fitted with aftermarket pipes (no cat) & Remus or other silencers all do it if the various joints are not 100% sealed.
All you have to do is hold the throttle just off closed, on the over-run, and they'll pop away all day.
As you say - it is indeed!!
Now just need to learn how to buy a new catalytic convertor every time I show off
As BumbleBee identified, it's most likely due to a minor air leak at the join between the exhaust and the silencer.
Tim
looks much better too.

and after a few kilometers on a dirt road(nothing too extreme) I noticed some rattling noises. As I come to the 650 from its bigger cousin the RT I thought it was the chain (not used to it, driving shaft drives for years). On closer inspection I realized the if I try and move the exhaust by hand it moves probably about 1cm left and right if you look the bike from behind.
with the bike, a new taller screen is on its way!!!!
