N/N smooth pipes!

Fitted to my bike Today.

Nippy norman pipes fitted to my F650GS, its a Remus system minus the CAT in polished stainless (smoother than a brazillian:augie), matched to my akrapovic end can, i find the sound is deeper throatier through the gears, there apears to be improved acceleration the bike feels livelier.:thumb
It looks nicer polished and blingy i think the actual pipes are continual sized through out and slightly bigger bored, the old one reduced at the cat. here are some comparison pics:

What exhausts you guys using

What aftermarket exhausts you guys using on your 800GSs
I like the look of the blueflame one carbon with carbon end done wast to spend Akrapovic money
Any pictures of what you got thanks

I use a Remus hexacone on my 800

Nice sound, not booming but pleasingly louder than stock and waaaay lighter.

You don't have to buy new. I got an Akropovic on here for £210, and one has just finished on eBay for about £250. Plus, they're genuine BMW parts, so no warranty issues.

Cheers fellas seen the link but no pictures, spoke to the dealer today he said BMW have no problem with end cans anymore when I asked about a Blueflame (wouldnt like to be the first with an exhaust related problem though)

My dealer said that there would be no warranty probs with end cans as they are the end of the line for the engine, not like air filters. No one mentions Mivv on this forum. Have a look, they are Italian, I think it is called 'sunon' (their web page is simple too navigate).

I personally would get the carbon. It is the best looking exhaust to suit the bike IMO, and carbon does not transfer heat so it is good for rear panniers.

The MIVV model is called Suono. IMO in full carbon it's the best looking can, followed closely by the Remus Hexacone in full carbon.:thumb

Emailed LeoVince 3 times to find out where there nearest stockest with stock is Still waiting for a reply
these guys were well on the ball so I thought id give them my money

Fitted a Beowulf Stainless £137.50 delivered, sounds great with or without baffle plus lots of popping on the overrun AND lifetime g/tee inc packing - can't be fairer than that can they!

I've got a BMW marked Akro Ti/carbon can, but wasn't happy with the muted humm with the baffles in or the...slightly too loud....bark with them out.

In the end, I took the baffle out and tuned it by gradually drilling out a pattern of holes until I got the sound and noise level I has happy with.

I fitted the BMW Akro can. Two years warranty and no issues.

Same as you ... too quiet (quieter than the standard setup) so just cut the baffle in half

Works just great :thumb

I also removed the cat

It wasnt the Exhaust that was delivered the next day but something else (should have had the wife open the box,) Phoned them only to be told there was a problem with the link pipe and it would be with me tomorrow Friday, 3pm came no can phoned them, Guess what they close early Fridays, monday came got an email from paypal saying you have funds, puzzled I opened the email ive gor a £15.00 Refund saying sorry we had a problem (another one!!!) the link pipe was made but someone forgot to post it, HELLO WTF, The can finally arrives Tuesday at 10am and after 4 telephone calls and 4 emails in all requesting the Beowulf Sticker was left off, it was on there
when I phoned them on Monday I asked if they could include A rad guard and paid the difference £44.95, that didnt arrive with the can
I got an Email today saying they had YET ANOTHER PROBLEM and it will be going in the post today
is it just me or is there a pattern here cant be that unlucky can I, I know one thing I wone ever use these Monkeys again

I'm really craving adding the Arrow headers to my Akrapovic with the db-killer out...

Hmmmm.... noise

:

I didn't notice any difference sound wise with the Akropovic out of the box. However, it does seem a lot louder with the db killer out. Not offensive, but not exactly BMW either. Cutting it in half seems a bit drastic! Maybe I'll drill a few holes. Anyone else tried this?

Nah ... not drastic at all ;)

Could be welded back together in two minutes if need be :thumb

Straight from the box the Akro was certainly quieter than the standard set up. Without the baffle it was certainly noisier but not offensive. Cutting the baffle in half as shown makes it a half way compromise :thumb
