oblertone - did you try these levers?
I need something adjustable on my 650 - the reach is too long for my little hands.

for me it was eighter fix it or get an other ride.
Today I went to the local sporting goods store and bought 4 boxes of B.B lead balls(4.5mm diam)
Took the handlebar partely of the bike, filled the whole inside of the handlebars with lead balls to get some weight to minimize the high frequency vibrations around 4000-4300 rpm mark.(85-95km\hr) which is where i have it most times.
It worked perfectly, even the mirrors are "dead" at least a 90% improvment.
weight increase approx 1\2kg.

excuse what might seem a silly question! But what stops the balls vibrating and making a wee racket?
where exactly did you put the shot? any pictures? I would like to do the same thing.

Or... lay the bike on its side![]()

hi
4 box of 500,still have some left,you need approx to fill 2.5 -3 dm3
I would like to get a resin to "glue" the balls solid inside, was thinking about some epoxy stuff, but not shure, needs to be same or equal viscosity as water,to penetrate befor the hardning starts, any clue of what to get?
cheers

Word to the wise - vibration is definitely worse when you've fitted BMW handguards!
No probs at all on mine, mirrors crystal clear, Touratech hand guards fitted (retain original bar end weights)

My TT handguards arrived today for my 650- the instructions are as clear as mud though
The only bit I don't like is they fit really close to the wiring and the brake fluid pipe - not much room. Hope its ok.

I think it's a bit squished about here???

I happen to have a load of lead shot (No.6), but you'd have to collect from London. I would guess its about 1.5kg required to fill the bars. Or have a nosey at your local gun shop, they will sell lead shot of various sizes for making shotgun cartridges.

want to put lead shot in the handlebars to get rid of the vibration at motorway cruising speeds.
Apparently so. There are other threads on the forum about this. The shot they use for BB guns. I cant remember if it is 4mm or 6mm.

I have the Touratech Handguards and they vibrate like crazy. For me it vibrates around 60/70mph which is annoying. I'm on the lookout for lead BB balls.
I'm down your way on the 30th. I'm riding to Austria and so a pick up of some lead weight en-route might do the trick. Of course I'll have numb hands by then.
In the meantime I might see if I can find some gun shops up here in Gunchester.![]()
