Lighter panniers

Any suggestions on the lightest pannier options available for a F650GS twin I have the BMW set but they usually weigh more than the contents::)

the touratech zega panniers (older square ones) are possibly the lightest you gonna get, you could haggle a bit with neil from touratech and maybe get a set plus frames for £650-£700:augie

Hi bikerbid,

I'm looking for the BMW alu panniers - are you planning to sell yours? I'd be interested.

Cheers

Thanks Zippygser. I'll investigate with Neil - haven't been in touch with him for a bit!

I had the very first set of Stahlkoffers for the 800 as my frames were the prototype, Bernie used my bike for the pattern. They have been superb, strong, reasonable finish and CHEAPER than anything else you will find of similar ilk. They are also powdercoated to match eh bike... At work now so cant post a pic but they are the ones on my avatar.

You cant go wrong for that price.

ARD Case

Today I picked up my ARD Cases from Roger and I could not ask for better well made cases at a great price, I chose my dimensions and roger did the rest such a great service and product, I will be posting pics when I get my laptop sorted. :)

Top Case interface with Jesse rack question

Also Jesse in black, as you can see compared to the above pictures sit closer to your bike which may suit the 800's better allowing safer filtering! also I dond know weather the others slide like the jesse back and forward allowing more pillion room or getting a better centre of gravity/ balance.:thumb:thumb

Can you share more information about what you had to do to install the Vario top case on top of where the Jesse rack attaches to the bike? When I bought my f800 I sprung for the top case because I needed something to lock stuff up in. Now that I've researched the options for side cases I have settled on the Jesses. But I want to know what I am getting in to with being able to mount my vario top case with the jesse rack. I have the pdf install manual from jesse but there is not enough detail there to determine how easy that interface is.

Can you share more info on how that went for you?

Mike

Which side did you put her in? Did it cause any problems with balance?

Givi SR692 Pictures Needed

Hi Guys has anyone got any decent picture of the new Givi SR692 fitted to their bike so I can advertise them on ebay/website :type. Givi havnt got any library pictures which is a shame as from what i have seen of the kit it looks a real nice piece of kit and the aluminum suits the bike far better than the standard black tubular steel and plastic set up.
Thanks Gang

Hi mike,

Yes I agree the BMW vario being lockable was the option for me I like the idea of expandable enough to take your Lid the key coding is a bonus. but wanting top loading aluminium but powder coated black was the look I wanted. the bonus with the Jese being the ability to slide the cases back or forward creating a better riding centre of gravity balance solo or with pillion
.
Theres almost always an adaption the add on items can not possibly allow for all other manufacturers bits you want to connect to!

Here is some close up pictures showing the Jesse rail system with the BMW vario rack .

There was some slight adaption to the rear rack spacers, (cut down) where theres a will theres a way, but I must say in my case im very fortunate to know Chad of Rugged Roads fellow ukGSer.......

He performs origami with precious metals heres a picture of the rack extender which fits with the Bmw vario O so small rack. (Crafted by Chad)
I wanted it to hold my kriega US10 tail pack so it was made to custom fit, also makes a flat bed with paniers to accept a beer tent or what ever :D
