Mickey, out of interest the roll bag that you have on the back, is that attached where a pillion would sit or is it attached to a top box plate/mount?

Jolyon

It's BMW's own waterproof roll bag... good kit :thumb

It's on the pillion seat... I don't take prisoners ;)

new toy

here is my new toy enjoying Derbyshire on saturday.
then we went to wales on sunday.

sunday i managed 229 miles on a tank full.
put 15.63 litres in and the range computer said 10 miles left so not that far out but i was getting worried !! thats the only -ve over my 1150 adventure.

the F8GS is a top bike, really pleased with it 450 miles done service book for saturday.

i have been good on the running in bit ie <5000rpm so roll on full revs.

6th is great you can stay in this gear and it really pulls smoothly.

out tonight to the northwest meet

Modified the front brake master cylinder reservoir today

I said it elsewhere, but just in case I'll say it here too. This mod is great but not so straightforward if you have the hand crash bars. The crash bar fixture on the handlebar next to the front break lever will hit the cup and not let you re-tighten things... I modified my cup by giving it a little heat and denting it inwards. Seems fine and left enough space so nothing is touching... best mod I've done!! :-)

Here's mine in sunny Portugal just arriving at the office...

:beerjug:.....looks really great !! Is that the BMW (TT) bashplate ? Looks pretty useful.
Yup thats the BM one..

Looks a nice bike, how does it ride, and what do you think
about it?.
Al

I think it's great! It handles like a cross breed between a supermotard and a enduro motocrosser.....really fun! Feels really light and flickable. This one won't hesitate to jump over little lobstacles anytime unlike other street 750's I've ridden that would rather not. But my type of riding is mainly touring so you won't see me doing jumps on it anytime soon.... even little ones....

Hooligan on knobblies

Picked up the new baby on Friday and left my tired 1200GSA behind for its 45,000 mile service.
Don't know whether to call this 'The Hooligan' or 'Tonka Toy', both are apt.

for Horizons Unlimited Mountain Madness event

It's even more fun than I remember, running in at 5000 revs = 82 mph in top.
Exhaust note is crisp and rorty. Feels faster in corners than my 1200GSA.

Fuel consumption is incredible. I'm still on the initial tank and have done 182 miles so
far with an indicated 92 miles range still to go. Dare I trust the fuel computer?

1 week 1000 KMs

Yes picked it up last week and I already have a date and time for the 1st service. I like it, a lot I think. I will write up my first impressions in 1000 KMs time, which will probably be next week. I have never owned a BMW but the experience from pre, during, delivery and then actually driving away from BMWs own sales installations in Madrid has been impressive. The bike is so.... (I need to get it above 5000 rpm I think).

I would like to thank all the learned posters and moderators who have the knowledge and the time to contribute to this excellent site. It has been an education for me. Some pics of the bike. I live in Spain, the bike paradise.
