► Tyre choices and emergency repairs

I hope the eBay shop is better than the jobsworths at the Dunstable shop. Not only do they not keep the TKC-80s in stock, they're also more expensive than on eBay. What a wasted afternoon.

We have 10,000+ Motorcycle / Moped / Scooter & Moto-X / Enduro & Trail tyres in stock at any one time so the chances are we will have what you need, and all at the best prices with next working day delivery (after dispatch) on all stock items.
Lies, lies, lies... *grumble*grumble*grumble* :)

Sorry to hear that. I've honestly never had a problem with them before. I've always bought direct off eBay though, never been to their premises :( :nenau

No worries - I'm sure the eBay shop works as advertised, and as it's "virtual" the concept of "in stock" is a bit different from a Real Life "in stock". :blast

Daft of me to assume they would be the same. :blast :blast :blast

Heidies ordered from MyNetMoto... 2 pairs at £133 per pair, delivered.

Let's see how it goes from here. :augie :JB

The Mitas E-09 seems quite aggressive. Has anyone got an opinion about the E-09?

They're rated 50/50 for on and off road, but still look like they can cut a path in moderate mud and grass...

Wha'dya reckon?

Dont think thats an E-09 mate, unless theyve changed the pattern radically in the month since I bought mine....
Mine is better offroad than TKC, just as good onroad, looks the nuts and doesnt appears to be wearing at all after 1200 miles. £55 delivered. Mind you, its a 140/80 iirc, dont think they do the 150/80, but it'll prolly cut through the winter slurry better for that, and offroad.....:cool

I have a 150/70/17 on the back of my 800 and it has been a really excellent tire ... but I think availability is now set for March! The 140/80/17 apparently works and is now available in Australia so I am getting one soon.

People who have used them say they work really well, and as a side benefit they are also cheaper!

Argee, my bad!! My bad. That's the E-07, so wrong name, right picture. My question was about the more road oriented E-07(at 50%/50%). If I go for full knobblies (next time?!) I will probably go for the E-09. Thanks!

Those guys, above, are out of stock at the moment.

I ordered two pairs of 90/90-21" and 140/80-17" from the german site http://www.mynetmoto.com/ . I did this about 6pm yesterday and today the status of the order says shipped. These are the "Scout" ones. Can't wait to get them. :) :) £133 per pair, delivered. :)

Let me know how you get one with them. Really would like to use the K60s instead of TKCs

Will do.... but my joy only lasted a moment. Apparently they only have one front so I've been sent 1 front and 2 rears. Need to get the front from somewhere else now. Hohummm!!

joker you will like the k60's but without teaching you to suck eggs mate. the temps are low at the moment mate. give them a good scrub in before pushing them and if you get a slight wheeering noise on the rear between about 30-40mph dont worry, its just the tread pattern and it does fade away after a few hundred miles

Not tried them but I'd be concerned how well they gripped cranked hard over as the gaps betweeen the blocks are very little offset between each other. They also look as though they may soon get clogged in mud.

yeah, it looks pap. this is the one you want to go for: http://www.trelleborgtyres.co.uk/product_details_55.htm

It's the best kept secret for the F800 and in general i was happy enough to watch people go and blow money on TKC's, because the more people that buy these, the more they'll hike the prices up (like the Heidi's). There's not a tyre to touch this puppy imho, and it really did go through it's paces in Kaz and Mongolia with me. Get the one with the yellow stripe around it though (the dakar version) as it's got steel reinforced walls. Trelleborg are very helpful, so call them if you need help.

At least you've got one set. Thanks for the info, they must be very popular tyres. The link I gave said they are in stock end November so I'll check early December and if they are not in I'll look elsewhere.

I read a great review on the tyres from someone who uses them for mostly commuting on the road (same as me), and the guy got 11k out of them with tread left.

11k, that's impressive! We ordered the 2nd front from Pneus online. Let's hope it won't be a problem. :)

Off Road/On Road Tyres? Post Morocco 3k miles test

Just back from 3000 miles trip to Morocco and used Mitas E-09 rear and a T-644 Swedish Army Special Front Tyre. This mix is better for more off road, if on road bias wanted suggest the Mitas E-09 front and rear would be better,

Was told by trelliborg (supplier) that the BMW off road school uses them. Good value as well front £51.00 & rear £ 58.00, worked well both on and off road.
