Hi,
So sadly the bikes back with the garage this week trying to resolve this ongoing problem. The only thing that seems to solve it sometimes is a magic 3 twists of the throttle and restart.![]()
There was a way of calibrating the throttle on my old F650GS. From memory, you turn the ignition on, wind the throttle open fully in a steady and controlled manner, then wind it back the same way and turn off the ignition. I'm not sure if the 800 runs the same system (I've never had to try it!).
I hope that makes sense?
Maybe something has failed, and your bike is 'forgetting' its settings. It might be worth trying the calibration thing every time before you start your bike (I doubt it needs three twists). Then if the problem goes away, at least the dealer has something to work on. My guess is that this is something to do with the ecu.
