Me and one of my chums have been playing about with roll-on acceleration tests. So I thought I’d share our results.
Me: 2009 R1200GSA, 12000miles, Remus Headers, OEM silencer, Accelerator module, Top Box. Rider weight approx. 18st
My chum: 2010 R1200GSA, 1000miles, bog standard but also with Top Box. Rider weight also 18st (yes two large Tossers
).
6th gear roll-on (3 runs)
50 – 100mph = both bike exactly neck & neck all the way.
50 – 135mph = again both bike’s equal up to 100mph. But then my bike just buggers off and at 135mph (and still accelerating) I have pulled a good 300 meters lead (my chums GSA maxed out at 125mph
).
I know that some of you chaps will call this pointless, daft, irrelevant etc.
But it eased the boredom of a long Autobahn blast. And the results were quite interesting and significant.
Discuss…….
