OK ... I know some of you have 'bike's over the 100,000 mile mark, but did you have them from new? Did you do it in five and a half years?

Posted in order to tell the doom and gloom merchants to feck off :P

F800GS bought new March 2008

15 front tyres
19 rear tyres
6 chains and sprockets
7 head bearings
9 sets rear pads
1 set front pads
2 rear discs
2 sets rear wheel bearings
1 set front wheel bearings
1 alternator/rectifier

Cost? Don't give a fuck :pullface

If this bike disappeared in a puff of smoke today it owes me nothing ;)

Always genuine parts fitted, without reservation, without regrets. DID Professional chains after initial warranty period. Serviced by myself from the start but with help and guidance from those that know ... you know who you are, thank you :thumb

From the crate ..

Now at 100,000 miles she's running as sweet as ever, doesn't use any oil, suffers no corrosion ... and is loved dearly ;)

Brilliant Micky :ChrisKelly Well Done that Man :thumby:

No mention of any replacement shocks in your parts list. Is it still on originals

Great stuff Micky :beerjug:

If that is not an advertisement for the model, then what is :nenau

The saying must be true :rob "A rolling F800 gathers no moss" :D:D:D

It looks like you could do all that three, four times over and it would still look mint :thumb2

Nice post, I like them F8's :green gri

:rob Just one observation, that little mechanic in the blue overalls at the beginning, he's a fugly dude :nenau :toungincheek

Wilber's rear unit and front springs/oil fitted very early on in its life. Rear unit rebuilt last year when a seal went and it dumped all it's oil

Try using your front brake for the next 100 k :augie

Excellent, well done man and machine ....... So where are you going now its run in?

I'm sure Tim will agree, that bike is a credit to you! :thumb2

Great summary of a great biking partnership :clap

Just an observation Micky

5,5oo miles per rear tyre, are they tourance? i ask because i get about 1000 miles per mm of tread, and can normally get 8.5k and some out of a rear tourance.
The fronts just last forever.I was just wondering twas all.
My 1150 is heavier than yours, and couldnt work it out.Are they the EXP model?
Well done on the 100k,now you better get busy and rattle off the next 150k and go for the quarter million smiler.
You need to contact a tyre manufacturer and see if you an get some freee tyres to test..

THE MAN MAKETH THE BIKE :rob

many many bikes will never make that mileage because the owners should never be allowed to touch them with a spanner:D:D:D

I fear that I am one of those owners! Hopeful that my 650GS twin will still make it though!
