Hi all,

First time posting here.. I've found most bits I've needed to know on here without needing to ask, but unfortunately I can't find much on what I'm trying to do.

In short, I've got an 1100gs, and I'm looking to update the speedo/dash to a newer 1200 dash.

Has this been done before? Does it plug and play? I don't mind if it's a case of linking up the same wires with new joints etc, but I've no idea how compatable it is.

Any advice would be very welcome! Be gentle.. I'm new here! :beerjug:

I dont know but I think it would be easier to make a whole new dash panel using some instruments from some mob I cant remember the name of at the moment - but some one will be along soon

or you could use a Trailtech computer
or an IMO computer

example, where are you going to get the speedo from?
on the 1100 and 1150, it comes off the front wheel via a cable, dont think it does that on the 1200
Not saying it cant be done, interested to see the result

If you are referring to the '04 onwards 1200's such as a GS the canbus electronics are unlikely to be compatible with the 1100, you'd probably have to look at the possibility of grafting a full 1200 set of electronics onto the older bike. The R1200C instruments could probably be used or I believe it's possible to graft an entire 1150GS instrument/screen assembly onto the 1100. Not certain though, Steptoer on here would be the man to tell you I would guess.

Ok well thank you for that.. that puts that idea to bed. Glad I know now before I've gone shopping!! :blast
