Hi I stripped and rebuilt my RH throttle body last night with a Dan Cata overhaul kit to get rid of a bit of slack in the shaft and the usual ticking.Just need to know where the butterfly should sit when on the throttle stop? should it be fully closed or just slightly open? would have left it alone but the new shaft is very slightly different from the old one and the butterfly was sitting fully closed with a danger of jamming when cool.
thanks in advance.:thumby::thumby:

Zero to zero reset stop screws I think just search forum , you didn't replace butterfly so it shouldn't jam .

Don't use the zero=zero procedure, it is wrong.

Clean both throttle bodies but don't touch the left hand throttle stop screw. Then set the BBS on each throttle body to three turns out (enough to get the bike to run). Then adjust the right hand throttle stop screw such that the TBs are balanced with a TB sync tool. Then fine tune idle speed and balance with the TB sync tool.

Ok thankyou that makes sense, I dont have a carb balancing tool but Im going to make up a manometer to do the job as I think Im going to need it with this bike. if that doesnt get the results Im after then Ill just have to fork out and buy a balancer.

I gave this a go ( but being lazy and in a rush) without cleaning the left throttle body and got it close but couldn't achieve a good balance through the Rev range, so tonight I took your good advice and cleaned the left throttle body too. Half a can of carb cleaner later I plugged in my home made u tube manometer filled with two stroke oil and hey presto, with a little more fine tuning I have a pretty much spot on balance throughout the Rev range. I haven't ridden it yet but I'm pretty sure I've improved things a fair bit and the throttle body rebuild kit from Dan cata in Romania has stopped the ticking that I had when the bike was cold.
Looking forward to taking it for a spin tomorrow to see how it feels.:coold:coold

Took it for a ride today and it's running very well, smooth and torquey with no major vibes, 95 mph and I can still see in the mirrors just fine but a bit vibey upwards of that which I am more than happy with. Still get the odd phut on the overrun but less than before, it was often giving a full backfire before the tweeks.
