1100GS Exhaust Mounts

I'm sure I've read somewhere that the centre exhaust mountings (by the centre stand) on my '96 1100GS are 'no longer serviced' and actually deemed to be not required. Do I assume that the single 8mm stud by the rear footpeg is all that remains to fight gravity - or have I missed something?

You have understood it right.
Just tighten the clamp properly on the right side as well.
