Getting the old girl back after a few years lay up. Just sorted front brakes and noticed this lump of red rubber sitting on the telelever, look up and it seems the front shock has disintegrated, oh well.

As its not used a great deal what do you guys use as a cheapish replacement?

Cheers

Alas the front shock cannot be refurbished.

When I reached out to TTech Suspension (DenzO) I was advised that “YSS shock is the cheapest option under £400” from them.

I think @Wrigsby1 uses a YSS on his 1100 and is happy with it.

You could buy another BMW front shock used from eBay but I suspect they will all be near/at end of useful life at this stage.

The YSS is fine and my experience of front shocks on oilheads is set up up and forget... Mor many folk more complicated shocks will end up tying them in knots with their much wider adjustability....
