Anybody got a workshop manual print or recommendations on how to remove the gear lever from the linkage arm on a 1100GS

Cheers:thumb

  1. Undo suspension adjuster and remove from footpeg mount
  2. Remove 3 allen bolts from footpeg mount
  3. Keep hold of footpeg mount and bring away from bike enough to give access to rear of gear lever
  4. Using 8mm spanner slide onto lower ball mount (its actually hidden by a black rubber ring)
remove from gear lever and footmount from bike and remove allen bolt holding gear lever to footpeg

Hope this helps

Johnny, If its the same as the 1150, there is a small, almost invisible wee circlip which holds the ball into the socket. Find the sticky out bit and push it. It will swing round away from the shaft. Pull it out vertically as the clip is bent at ninety degrees and the end of it goes into the ball socket.
Then pull the ball from the socket.
I dont know if that makes any sense.

In my experience pulling the ball form the socket aint that easy, i speak from experience hence why I suggested using the 8mm spanner and doing it that way.

I changed mine for the touratech adjustable gear lever and found this to be the best way.
