1100GS odometer problems

Hi all, this is first post here and i'd appreciate some info.

I bought a 1100GS a few months ago. Since then the odometer has started acting funny. Its jumped by up a factor of 10. I'm not sure now how genuine the bike is.

Is there any diagnostics on the bike i could get read? There's a 3 pin diagnostics cable but i'm not sure what one can read off it. Does anyone know what diagnostics the 1100's have? Specifically is there a diagnostics odometer?

it a cable operated speedo and odometer. Nothing electrical involved.

the speedometer/odometer, is a pure mechanical system on the 11100/1150 series, if it fails it is simply replaced, they are around £100 iirc, though I am sure someone will have a spare one going, there is no diagnostics for it, it is drive at the wheel. cable, head, simple as
