Finally got mine booked in for this - told that it would take 1 - 1.5 hours! What are they doing - rebuilding the brakes?

Anyone else had this done - how long did it actually take?

'Part from anything else, don't want to be stuck in Vines for hour and a half listening to Heart FM blaring out of a K1200LT...

Had it done last Friday at Jefferies'. Took approx' fourty five minutes. Got a super duper print out, which confirmed that all was well........ :)

Cheers - that's bareable. I'll take the "bumper book of worthwhile MCN artices" to read, and just hang about for the other 40 mins. :D

actually it's not a recall. it's a campain to sedate customers.

but anyway I do have a question to these quys that got the readout. did you find anything unusual with the average speed listetd in the protocol?

most bikes that had brake problems have unusual high average speed listed which could lead to the assumption that for a calculated time the ABS was not present.

Just a question to look in the protocols, thank you

Had mine (03 1150) done on monday. Took about 45 mins but I didn't get a printout ... is that just for the 1200 :nenau

As Nemezis said, it's not a recall as such, just some additional info for the handbook (explaining the operation of the ABS braking system) and an invite to take your bike into the dealer for a free check of the braking system (printout should be included for the 1150).
The info was sent out by BMW to the addresses they have on their records so if you are a second owner or have moved they won't have your details.
Also, I think the invite finishes at the end of Feb so make contact v.quick. :thumb

Who has an e-mail contact address for BMW Bracknel, then I can ask about why I haven't had this notice yet, for my 1150 GS servo braked 2003 model.

Phoned NOG in the morning ,took it in after lunch. It took 2 cups of their coffee and left with readout saying all was well. You cant beat that for service.

2002, 1150 bought privately, two years ago.......BMW contacted me late December. Brakes checked last week at Jefferies, printout provided.......

What age bikes are they offering the recall to, my ABS has packed in, and could see if it is part of 'the problem'...

Done - took 1hr 45 (Vines - booked in, but they weren't ready). Didn't get a printout.

Dunno what they did, but they didn't take the tank off.
